ZF launches first pilot venture for electrified cell excavator drivetrain

Based on estimates, by 2050 two thirds of the world’s inhabitants will stay in giant cities which is able to come with disadvantages comparable to advantageous mud, gas emissions and noise.

ZF’s goal is to cut back not solely accidents and downtime, but in addition emissions. As a part of this mission, the corporate is now increasing its portfolio to incorporate electrical drives for excavators.

First prototypes have already been delivered to a pilot buyer, with the newly launched system consisting of a 2-speed powershift transmission, electrical motor and inverter. It may be scaled as much as peak torque 850 Nm and steady energy of 80 kW. Three programs of the electrical central drive system eCD50, eCD70 and eCD90 can be found to cowl totally different automobile sizes within the focused purposes.

ZF eTRAC eCD70 – a brand new benchmark for electrical drives.

ZF’s product portfolio for cell excavators is rounded off by a newly developed electrified swing drive and the MULTISTEER and MULTITRAC entrance and rear axles.

The electrical drive system satisfies expectations for the efficiency and productiveness present in conventional drivelines and combines them with the advantages and alternatives that electrical programs have to supply.

As a consequence of its modular design, this new vary of electrical central drives can simply be tailored for varied automobile purposes like backhoe loaders, telehandler, and forestry tools.
